Superjet getting Shocked /Voltage thru Handlebars!?

I have a 1990 SN SJ all stock it's a 701 w/62t case ,62t cylinder ,dual 38s ,stock pipe
Riding in salt water ,had ebox opened, overheat sensor not hooked up, but everything else looks fine.Stock cdi . I'm getting what feels like high voltage discharges ,no little tingle zap! comming up thru my billet aluminum throttle lever I have stock fiberglass pole ,so it must be using the throttle cable. Or ,if start stop switch can produce that much voltage ,but it feels like grabbing a firing spark plug , voltage hits hard halfway up my arm ,sometimes not always, very random ,hits bad when ski come out of water even for a second? Grounds cleaned tight,start stop switch apart looks fine, just cutback plug ends, disconnected bilge pump wires from battery ,still hits ? Any common areas to start looking or if anyone had similar problem,Please let me know .
 
This isn't the first place I would look, but my 650 was shocking me like this and my stator was coming lose just basically bouncing around behind the flywheel

My first guess is that it's your bilge pump. I had a friends go bad, he swapped them and it quit. Then a month later I was getting zapped too. Had a extra bilge laying at home, put it In and it stopped shocking me. It's a hard hit too. You feel it past your elbow. Def change the bilge. It will still work fine and test out fine but inside it's shorting. Typical with age.

My first guess is that it's your bilge pump. I had a friends go bad, he swapped them and it quit. Then a month later I was getting zapped too. Had a extra bilge laying at home, put it In and it stopped shocking me. It's a hard hit too. You feel it past your elbow. Def change the bilge. It will still work fine and test out fine but inside it's shorting. Typical with age.

I disconnected the bilge at the battery positive side,while out that day,and I was still getting hit with voltage? I will change out the bilge anyway.
 
That's the same thing I did but yet some way still hits the bars. Also touch your hood latch, no clue how but even that zapped me. Try the swap and see if it clears but 100% that was my shock problem.

Check for nicks or gouges including damage to the insulation on your plug wire leads ,this will cause the symptom you described

It has the orginal spark plug wires and boots, could it leak that much voltage? I know I could get new boots,but can you change those wires from the coil? Or would that be new coil time?

Yes if the coil wires have a nick that is thru the insulation just ad a little water and you are basically grabbing a bit of your spark plug energy via your handle bars .i know from experience ,chased that gremlin once before ,drove me nuts . for me the nick was where the coil wires come thru the e-box grommet and was hard to diagnose because it was hard to see .if it were me and does tun out to be your coil i would replace it .

I had the same issue a few years ago when I was running the JSS quick connect posts in my ebox. Corrosion had built up around the post and grown to the point where it bridged between the post and the aluminum ebox backplane. Lit me up thru the throttle cable.

Every wire connected directly to the battery is suspect, not just the high voltage ones. 12VDC bites hard when you are wet and salt water makes an excellent conductor.

If you are still running your original wires it is time to send your coil and spark plug wires to OCD and get his better then new ones.

Found a bad nick in the rubber cover that covers the main spark plug wire..Main plug wires have no nicks.or should I be looking for a nick in the main wire.

Check the start stop switch wires by the turnplate. Last year my turnplate cut the wires and I was getting a shock in the handle bars
