yes big difference, with lightened you lose flywheel reliability for minimal gains. aftermarket stays reliable and much more.
i would pull the motor to take it apart.

You can easily pull the flywheel without pulling the engine... just remove the gas tank.

I got mine changed out in less than 20 mins with the tank left in, and kneeling in the back of my truck using cheap tools I purchased on the road.

I stuck a lightened flywheel on my 92 and didn't feel much, if any difference. I put a TBM Charging wheel on my 96 and it was quite noticeable. Well worth the money, escpecially if you're on your way to building up a great ski.

How about a RAD flywheel? Are these good and reliable flywheels? I heard a rumor that the structural integrity isn't very well. Has anyone had any bad situations with them? Or positive ones?

nothing special.just make sure both tapers are mint and follow mounting instructions.
recheck shortly after and if all ok just ride.
