Superjet cutting out

2002 Superjet with a cdi, riva dry pipe, porting won't stay running after i release the start button. It'll fire and run for a second but will die out when it does fire. I know its getting fuel because the spark plugs are wet. Just looking for ideas on what to check. I'm gonna pull the electrical box tonight and make sure i didn't miss anything when i had it apart a few weeks ago. it's also backfiring.

back firing from the exhaust or from the carbs?

it won't hurt to change your pluggs. what is the history on the ski? did you just build the ski or did it used to run? check spark first, then clean carbs, then check compression, then engine leaks. don't pull the electric box. thats no fun just look for the spark.

i pulled the electrical box because i had it apart a couple weeks ago and i checked the plugs for spark already and swapped them. This ski was running fine before but it would cut out on the water for no reason but it would atleast run then. The only reason i had it apart was because i blew an exhaust coupler and broke a throttle cable last weekend. o and its backfiring through the exhaust although just now when i went to start it it seemed as though it came through the carbs as well.

Like said in your other thread check the S/S switch.

X2.
Disconnect the black and white cables, fire it up, see what happens.

Do you have a primer set up?
if you do, then as soon as it fires push that sucker to really make sure you are getting fuel to the carb.
Primers are great to use for troubleshooting fuel related issues........
