Superjet chamber in an FX-1?

Has anyone run a Superjet factory pipe chamber in an FX-1? I thought I've seen where someone said they were running that setup, but I'd like to hear what it took to make it work/fit?

Was thinking that a SJ chamber might be better for my FX with the bigger pump. I'm not hitting nearly the RPMs I used to with the FX pump and the bigger chamber might be more appropriate.

I believe (and I could be wrong) that the only difference is a couple of dents on the fx-1 chamber, compared to the sj. Not sure if it will make a performance difference or not, but I'm sure you can make it fit.

Do a search, someone posted pics of all the different FPP Yamaha chambers a while back.

I think the FX1 chamber is shorter like a SJ mod pipe with a bigger relief to pass by the fuel tank, If that's the case then a limited chamber probably would not fit into the FX1 no matter how much you beat on it.

it will fit to perfection. no denting or anything (mod chamber)




what I thought was wild is that there is MAYBE 1/2" clearance between the headpipe and E-box :bigeyes:

I put both chambers side by side and the FX chamber has a "dent" in the top of the pipe where the water separator goes and it is definitely a little narrower than the SJ pipe. They seem to be the same length though. I think the SJ will have more volume and I was thinking it might be better for bottom end?

i just put a fx chamber in a sj last night and it wasnt any shorter..it does have a bigger relief for the gastank

i believe so..pm dangerboy..he has a modd chamber in his fx

not if the fx chamber is smaller than a sj chamber

the mod pipe will fit but you will have to remove or modify your water seperater. you should also dent in the bottom of the pipe where it hits the front motor mount. it will clear the motor mount but eventually it will hit/rub it and possibly cause damage. i will post some pics next week.

I did the opposite. I put a fx1 chamber in my 96 superjet. Had a protec superstock motor with the works. It let me turn more rpm.
