l was not sure about the bulkhead until l layed the first layer of glass on one side.lt is pretty tough.Had a tough time with 12 oz biaxle glass trying to keep it layed down on the backside.Going to have to grind down where it lifted and then dried. You can take a hammer to the foam after the epoxy dried,it won't break.

This weekend l got the pump finally lined up.Got pretty frustrated at one point, and ended up having to walk away. But the pump is within a 1/16 of an inch being centered.Cut the holes for the scupper and the "Chad" pipe.Chad had worked all the measurements out,so ended up buying one from him.Sometime back l had bought some footholds from Tom21 to install on my fx1.This project came along and used them on the Stunt. The rails at the rear of the ski are about 6' tall and his footholds are around 8" tall.l really didn't know what to do,but after contacting Tom he said "cut off at the top and mold them in!" For anyone that has not spoke or emailed Tom he is one the the niceist and most helpful guys in this sport.lf he ever decided to mold a hull for a ski,l'm will be first in line to buy one.His fiberglass parts are diffinately well made. You can see in the pics how good they will look after molded in.

Glad you decided to build yours.Do you have any dates yet on her arrival.l spoke to Dan yesterday. He still sounds sick, but said he is getting better. One nice thing is we are able to work off each others builds and help each other out.Alot of thanks to Chad for helping me get started and stay focused.

I agree with your comments about Tom21. Glad to see you are making progress.

The picture below represents the start of the new bulkhead.Just finished it about an hour ago.The foam piece l made did not soak up the resin all the way through it.l took a piece that l had cut off and smacked it with a hammer."Not so hard" sums it up.lt crushed in the center. The mid shaft bearing bolts would have just crushed it too.Hate l wasted some material, but better to find out now!

Looks like it's back to the florist for you. Why not just run it the way highroller made it? I'll admit, it has it's advantages and drawbacks. I certainly plan to, looks like chips is, and SuperJETT has been running his regular SJ with a RN conversion top deck the same way and it has been fine. The only difference is SuperJETT fiberglassed in his gunwales to foam for footholds.

Yep,back to the florist, man!!! lol l would perfer to have the tail section closed in.Call it old skool.Plan on cutting foam and layin in the bottom, then 2 part foam in the top. Also, running drains.l've had stock skis sink before, just don't trust leaving it open.

What did you lay the bulkhead on to get it flat that it wouldn't stick to?

Picked up a piece of glass from the local glass company. They usually have scrap laying around.Guy just cut off the rough edges and smoothed them out.Cost $5.

Sorry about the delay in posting.Looks like Waternut is making great headway and Chad is close to paint.

l got alot done behind the bulkhead done except sealing with 5200.Plan on doing that this weekend.Covered my bulkhead with carbon fiber and bonded it to the hull.l used a product called Fuzor 127EZ for this and will use it to bond the hull and deck together.

Started on building up the 4 areas for mounting the motor mount plates as you can see from the picture. From what l have mocked up,it looks like l'm close in the front, but the rear lacks about a 1/4 inch.Waternut and l have discussed this about the space between the hull and the plates in the front.l hope this does not turn out to be a weak point. One thing that concerns me is the alignment of the engine.Gotten advise from several sources and quite frankly l'm concerned about my ability to do it correctly.l just don't want to f**k it up!So if anyone wants to add their advise, please feel free to help.
