Strength and Weight of RRP

^^^ Your right, I should have read better..... sounds to me like XFT should add some material, and build it like oem with foam as structure.... still be under 8lbs, and feel more solid.

This is why I decided to carban wrap my stock pole.... finished product should be about 8.5lbs.... and strong as hell!!!!!

I still like the lowprofile look of the X-metal.... by far the best looking pole out.... I would recomend it over anything else on the market.

I weiged my UMI pole one time and I forgot the weight but I'm thinking it was around 9 pounds. It's noticeably lighter than the XMW pole, for reference. It's a few years old and someone posted the newer ones have a billet top so they might not weigh the same anymore.

you guys always forget about this one! SR-71, hand laid glass -2

i think its about 9 lbs.....but there's also a carbon version thats even lighter

Yeah I know the 24-7 site is there, but there's nothing on it. I seem to think that pole used to sell for well over a grand, which is insane for a pole IMO.

I've tried the following poles all on sxr's
RRP, x metal, UMI, AC sj, and AC 750
My personal favorite is AC sj pole. they are light, strong, and have nice lines.
The only hard part is mounting the steering cable bracket. I use a spring.
I liked the RRP but it was heavy & pricey. the UMI is super heavy and looks like crap. And I just hate the look of the ac 750 poles. The X-metal was nice but I don't like how it's hard to mount a spring and steering cable. Just my 2cents

You forgot to mention a stock shortened handlepole. I shortened my stock pole 2in and I love it. I think its stronger than ever.

I've got a blowsion handlepole spring so it floats and I cranked down the mount a little tighter than normal so it has that stiff feel to it, but not too stiff that it feels hard to move.

I'm really glad I didn't spend the money on an aftermarket pole. It cost me nothing to shorten it.

When and if I ever break my stock pole which I probably will then I'll probably go with an xmetal setup. You can beat $600 for the entire setup.

Its only stronger then ever if you reinforce it....imo

x-mas gift

My wife bought me a RRP pole for christmas. I can't wait to put it on and take it for a ride. Experimenting with pole length is gonna be exciting. A rigid handlepole with no flex transmitts your input force quicker. A composite pole (winds up) then releases causing lag time. Theres no a whole lot of extra time involved in most aireal tricks. Just my thought.

You could think of it like that. I did not notice it much but my last carbon pole I had would flex about 1/4 in each direction. Rode my buddies ski w/an aluminum pole and noticed a difference. More positive feel. I even noticed a difference riding w/ a stock pole in comparison...more ridged.

Not that I'm BR my SXR, but I did notice a slight difference that gave me more confidence trying to roll it with the RRP over stock. It could have been because it was no longer making that creaking sound when I cranked on it, or it could have been how solid it felt. Either way, it did help with response and feedback.

if you have been running an ac you should not feel much difference . it is heavy but it is also adjustable which is the main sellling point . i have installed them on at least 50 skis with next to no problemns . i have riders that love the adjustabilty to find the right ride length for each rider . overall it improves your riding . so its worth the money to me . there are alot of good poles on the market now so its tough . good luck let me know if you want to go that route.
