i do that with all my trophys:wink1:

i have only met jason a few times and his attitude has always been positive.i think this thread is backfiring on whoever posted it :haha:

i for one would like to know who it was for future reference.we all have the right to know who we are talking with:damnit:
Agreed everytime I have met Jason he has been really nice. He helped me get back up and running at Lanier. I also talked to him some and helped him pull his boat out Saturday afternoon. I didnt get to see what happened sunday(had to go throw a 6mil lamey in a square)but dont we all get agitated sometimes. I sure am glad the media isnt there when I start breaking stuff:banghead: . I guess what I'm saying is that people deal with anger different and it dosnt make them a bad person. At least he is passionate about the sport:biggrin:

Jason is passionate for sure, but he could try to be a bit more professional. Whatever the reason, stomping through a crowd of fans venting at the top of your voice is not good for getting support out there on the water. Jason is a great rider and is willing to spend time to help anyone, but he needs to understand that there's more to being a pro rider than just riding well, especially when you're in the spotlight at the pinnacle of your sport.

The contrast between Jason, Eric and Jeremy on Sunday was amazing. Jason alienated everyone by having a public temper tantrum. Eric was detached as usual, but connected with the crowd somewhat, and Jeremy went out there with his usual good humor and had everyone rooting for him. Jeremy is the man!!

BTW, Eric was cool enough to let a few people ride his ski later on Sunday: Ratti, Jeremy and Paul included. Good guy.

Stoyer was, to say the least, passionate. Many people that have big enthusiastic highs, have big angry lows as well. Such is the nature of being emotional. He probably goes through cell phones pretty quickly too.

He was awesome to watch.

in public is not cool especially in front of fans but he can do what he wants with his trophy .He won it and it's his .
Just wait until you get home to bust loose :dunno:

The trophy thing could have been in private somewhere - I don't know anything about that. I'm just talking about during the competition.

As for the broken trophy, I could care less what someone does with his own while "backstage." It would be different if this was done while on stage.

As a Stoyer supporter, I totally agree with the above statement...... There is no vendetta here for me!

Unfortunately though....... I am totally shocked and upset with this display of un-sportsman like behavior!

HE DID THIS IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE GROUP OF JUNIOR RIDERS!!!!!!!.......... What did this teach my daughter who raced in Juniors?

Not to mention the disrespect he showed all his fellow competitiors along with all the up and coming amateur riders who would love to compete as pros one day!

I'm sorry but this has really effected everything that I have tried to instill and teach my daughter in her competing and how she should handle herself with her fellow riders!

saki, you summed it up perfect. I still support stoyer also. Don't really know him or anything about him, except he attributes alot to the sport and people involved. You can't let one issue, such as this, make you forget all the positive ones. #2fan prolly got 4th

Every vid I have seen of Jason he is going BIG! When he did it was it out of spite or was it more of a "I don't ride for trophys thing". Either way he obviuosly loves the sport.

He chopeed his friggin car up man!

Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser. -Vince Lombardi

Winners are that way. Stoyer probably broke a putter later in the day playing putt-putt with his neice next to the registration tent.

didn't he also just give a hull away to a junior rider? didnt he drive himself to every stop on the tour? didn't he do the announcing for amateurs? hasn't he helped countless riders in this sport (and many on this board, myself included?)

personally, i wouldnt have trashed my trophy, but then again, i do this as a hobby, on my spare time. jason devotes his day to day life to this sport. he does much more than just sit and type all day at a computer, he's out there involved, committed, and helping, putting his money where his mouth is. he's not the first pro guy ive seen have a temper breakdown. people are human.

he's busted his hump all year and i think he just felt that he was treated unfairly. i spoke to him this morning. i'm not defending his actions, but let's keep 'the big picture' in perspective. i dont know many people who devote as much time, effort, and their lives to the sport the way jason does.

everyone has their faults. this is one incident highlighted by a thread started by some coward hiding behind a keyboard in some hotel room somewhere, typical poser bs.

very well said Yamasaki

and im gonna leave it at that...........

T-bone

brraap....thats so 2002
why pick up the trophy at all, for the longest time i stopped picking up trophys in motocross....hell i would have to build another room for them if i did. they just get in the way......now if i go now and its a good event i might take it home. but jasons busts his ass on a day to day basis so he can do what ever he wants with it.....plus he gave ronny a hull also.

I wasnt there, but IMO I think he's pissed cause he got beat by Jeremy...

Honestly(not trying to dis or make enemies, just being totally honest), I was surpised to see the results yesterday that Jeremy did beat him!
By the score stories I'm readin it was oh so close.
Nice job Jeremy! Cant wait to see the vids!

Regardless, Stoyer is still one of my favorite Pro's

Yamaskai is balls on! :arms:
Jason has all his heart in freestyle, and he wears his emotions on his sleeve which isnt the best thing sometimes. You could tell he was pissed by the scoring, but didnt yell, cuss, throw, or break anything in front of the crowd. I saw several "WTF" reactions from amature riders after the poor scoring on saturday as well.
Only one pro rider had a clean run and didnt have to paddle to his boat. That was Stoyer. He did get screwed in my opinion. If breaking his trophy makes him release some anger so be it.

I can't believe that so many people are so willing to defend such unsportsmanlike behavior just because they are friends with the guy. If it was anyone else you'd all be saying how bad something like that is for "the sport".

Mine is bigger than yours
I do not agree, I do not care what the reason there is none to be breaking stuff and setting a bad example for others. If Jason really wants to be Pro then he needs to act like it rather than acting like loon.

Now I was not there but I can tell you that if he did get screwed in judging he should have sucked it up and moved on. IJSBA should pull his card for bad sportsmanship and not let him compete the rest of the year.

Rick Roy, Lensy, Lee Stone and Eric Malone do not do stuff like this and they have passion for freestyle as well

Since Jason has displayed some poor judgment (which we all have done at one time) what is he going to do about it is the big question. I would hope that some sort pr apology from him will come from him to the freestyle community.

well its the preverbial (sp) bad boy of our sport. It just shows that he's a little whiny baby just like I thought he was. Flame, ban, do whatever. Hes ungreatful. If i even got to compete in a competition, i'd be happy i was doing what i loved. Malone and Parr deserve their spots, if not for their rides, for their attitudes.

Eric and Jeremy FTW
