Just to stray this thread a little off topic... which aftermarket heads do you guys prefer for a 650? for a 750?

For a 650 I have personally had a PJS, a Mariner, and an Ocean Pro. PJS is thicker and needs special studs so that is a bit of a pain. It had water line fitting at the very rear and the very front of the head. It used a stock gasket.

The mariner wasn't anything fancy. It had cooling line fittings at the stock location and one in the mirrored position on the opposite side of the head. It used a stock gasket.

The Ocean Pro head had a stock water line fitting. It also had one at the very fron and very rear liek the PJS head. The domes were also the custom swirl pattern.

For a 750 I had an R&D regular cast head with o-rings sealing the combustion chambers. Water line fittings were in the two spots just like a stock 750 head.

All in all I liked parts of each head but nothing jumped out at me as "I have to have one". I would stay away from a West Coast head since they require a special head gasket and the gasket can be hard to find. Otherwise they have planty of water line fittings in different locations. They also have a cool patttern on them.

As far as 750 heads I am leaning more towards an ADA Racing head but I have beard their girdle system makes it impossible to remove the stator cover once in place. Just a thought. I may get a JSU or Blowsion head when I build an 800 motor...
