What is the preference for stock flame arrestor with dual 44s and an ADA head?

2 single f/a or 1 dual flame arrestor?

I ask in case of issues of fitting, clearance, maintenance, etc.

I hope to buy the Boyesen intake setup (with incorporated spacer?).

I run dual 44's on a Riva manifold, with a spacer, and two single OEM FA's.
They fit okay....but the cooling outlet on the head (ADA) gets in the way. I simply cut out a small piece from the FA top.
Fits fine that way. Easy to install and remove. No maintenance required.

NOTE: You can also turn both FA's sideways. Looks funky, but fits without cutting.

I have the dual flame arrestor with an ADA girdled head, R&D dominator and reed spacer. It fits fine. I like the billet adaptors that Wamilton makes, they allow you to use the singles without hitting the head. You need the flame arrestor adaptors with them also.

:Banane09: i run a stock 760 44's/manfold.. I just turned them a 180, took the base plate to the bench grinder, made a little clearance for the head bolts..

I did the opposite. I turned the base plates 180 so they extended out toward the exhaust tube, but put the plastic housings on normal so they went over the head. I had to chop some of the plastic, but they looked good.

Found my pics, took a while.

These are with my Riva head, I had to cut the plastic a bit to clear the water fittings on the ADA, but it's the same configuration.

Can you guys tell me what pieces/parts I need to make this setup work on my blaster with dual 38s and an ada girdled head?

Do the single flame arrestors just bolt on to my setup, or do I need some kind of adaptor? I have K&N flame arrestors on now, and want to do a more freestyle setup like I see on this thread.

I already have one extra stock 61x flame arrestor, so I just have to locate another. Thanks. -Eric

you cant run 44/46 arrestors on 38 carbs. the 38 is a 3 bolt design and the 44/46 is 4.

has any one tried running them like -- -- as apposed to like this ||

Can you use the stock dual 38 FA on this setup?

I think water gets in easier that way. When they are over the head, they are lease prone to water ingestion.

I'm only running a single on my B1 with a 62t. I got some longer bolts and bolted the stock f/a to the K&N adaptor. I opened up the opening on the stock base piece, and used another gasket between the f/a and the adaptor. No cutting of the stocker.

So you changed it up a little huh? in that one post you were using two flame arrestors, one on top of the other upside down. I like this design a little more.

Please if anyone knows a way to make this work let me know. I have a guy that has another 61x single flame arrester that I can buy. That will give me the 2 I need to do a setup like this. I just need some kind of adaptor or something to make it work... is there such an adapter? Thank you.

just run a stock 38mm dual carb Flame Arrestor. You'll probably spend less money on purchasing it and it works just as efficiently in my opinion.
