Steering adjustment help?

So I installed 4* bars and I cant seem to get the steering to get centered when the thrust nozzle is straight.

I have screwed both joints in as much as possible and the nozzle still points more right than left.

Is there something im missing? Is there any other way to make an adjustment?

The pic shows the position of the bars when I put the nozzle straight (just to help explain my elementary dilemma)

your steering cable is not locked in the pole. Remove the cover under the pole steering assy and lock the cable into place. Was it just new bar install or did you put on an aftermarket turn plate?

I only installed the bars...thats it. so you say there is a lock for the cable? is it in the little cover just down the pole from the turn plate?.....sorry but i always miss the easiest stuff directly in front of me.

Yes, Remove the cover and you will see a metal bracket. The cable has a slot that will slide into the bracket to hold the cable in place. Usually this will happen when you remove the turn plate, cable end, or turn plate mount base.

Right on man, I appreciate the help. I figured it was something super easy.

I went out today and followed a 300ft tanker out in the Delaware river about a half mile or so (huge wake)....what a difference the new bars make.

Sweet!! Glad I could help. It has happened to me more than once. I get out on the lake and can turn right but not left :261:

Titan,

I was thinking about the 4 Deg bars, which one did you get? and what is the difference from the stock, is it turnability, comfort(does it hurt your wrists), does it impact the way you carve/turn, do they move you forward more? Sorry for all the questions, there is so much stuff out there its hard to make sense of it all.

The aftermarket bars in a huge improvement. You are right in the fact that it does move you forward and you ride more aggressively. I ran the 4 degree for quite some time and loved them. They were not hard on my wrists at all. Actually the stock bars were worse on them than the 4 degree. Now I am running the 0 degree in which I really like. Yes, they can be hard on your wrists and take some time getting used to.
