Clean used OEM. I picked 3 up last fall for $30-40 each shipped.... but figures I had to swap out two already.

I'll never, ever buy a used starter again.

Bought a used goki and it never worked for me. Bought a new goki and it's worked better then perfect.

I have rebuilt plenty of starters. I have one now that the needle bearings rusted solid in it. Well if i was to rebuild it, I would run it no questions.

Like SFL said, Always run an OEM!

I had a Goki once. Mother &^*%er crapped out in no time. How does a brand New starter get water inside of it? They are junk stay far far away from them.

OEM ONLY!

If you need a good starter, I have one.

hey dave thanks for the offer i will let you know ,their is a brand new mitsuba oem for 75 dollars on ebay which is not a bad deal, might get that

bendix looks good it is making a winding sound and not turning over and then sometimes it will turn over

Sounds like the bendix to me.
If your starter spins and but doesn't turn over the motor it is usually caused by the bendix not kicking out and engaging the flywheel. A lot of times you can take out the bendix and clean/oil it and it will work fine for a couple more seasons.

I agree with steve, but if you do decide to get a new starter, take the old one to a good starter shop (if you have one where you live) and have them rebuild it and when you do ask them to wind it tight. If they do this, it will actually act as a high tourque mini starter and work much better.

Just my $.02 :fing02:
