you and i both! there are spots where monster hole breaks (you can tell by all the whitewater, where its probably only 5 or less feet deep.. dont do 'that stuff' there.. however, monster hole also breaks where its REALLY deep.. like, deep enough to do huge surf 50/50's, get swallowed up completely when you land with 2 or 3 feet of water between you and surface, and your ride plate still wont touch sand (maybe a shark or two)

also, the 'outside' shore break is also very deep, at least 10 feet ... so, if the hole is not big enough, the far shore break is guaranteed to be deep enough for all the nose stabs and 50/50's you can throw at it.

the surf at daytona and 'the secret spot' last weekend was picture freekin perfect.. the only problem was i didnt want to throw any 50's or nosestabs cause i was just scared to hit bottom.. i got home and realized my nose cracked at some point this weekend.. its just shallow there! WAY shallow! other than that, i can still close my eyes and see those beautiful 200 yard wide CLEAN sets rolling in! WOW!!!!!!!!! :bigeyes: :bigeyes: :bigeyes: :bigeyes: :bigeyes:

that is actually quite common there.........wait til you see the ones that are twice as wide!!!!! :beerchug:

Garret, the surf breaks due to the bottom being shallow... That's how it works...

small surf days = shallow breaks
bigger surf days = deeper water breaks

The laws of physics don't change when you leave daytona and arrive in sebastian... Trust me...

I have ridden sebastian several times and at low tide (when the outside break the best) it is very shallow in a lot of places... If you are concerned w/ hitting the bottom, just test the depth before you try a trick... that's how I gage weather or not to try a backflip..

The deepest break I have ever ridden is Ponce... It's like 12-15 ft deep on the way outside and it breaks huge.. Just got to get it on the right day.

A big wave breaking in 15 ft of water is really rare on the east coast,that would rock on a hurricane or big storm day though

Ohhhhh yeah, forgot to mention that. That was some funny azz stuff. Okay so Sun. night around 9:30 at Idok's place we did an after ride eat & drink & hangout session. I saw that Tor(Masterblaster) was driving a car and asked if it was a rental. He said yes and I proceeded to tell him about things we needed to do to it. The night went on.Tor goes to leave and a little later I go out to my truck to start getting my stuff together to leave. Well, Tor is sitting in his car in the street with the window down. Keep in mind he is a laid back guy, probably getting to know everyone and still trying to figure out us crazy Fockers. SuziQ is sitting in her Jeep with the ski behind it a little in front of him. Well he does one of these:woot: and powerbakes it for like 7 feet. Stops, then drives a little to the left and starts powerbraking it again and for what seems like a minute that's what I hear all the way down the street and smoke blowing around and the sound eventually fading. I started laughing my azz off, just dying laughing leaning against my truck. That's the last I saw of him on his way back up to Va. Tor, you did the Pontiac right for the crew before taking her back. :biggthumpup:
