square

"i have a 1996 yamaha 701cc superjet pwc. it is in good condition with a few scrapes and has been costom painted. it was originaly blue. the engine runs like new and is mostly stock but has some costom parts to boost it up a little. it is very powerfull. the hull is in great shape. it startes right up. it has reserve and a choke. it is made for racing but was never raced. i am the second owner."

could i make this into a good freestyle ski for a somewhat cheap price? does everything bolt up the same as a round nose hull so i could swap out the square with a round hull?

thanks

I have been working on it for the last year and am nearing completion of making it a decent ski to throw around, I have heard nearly everything is the same except the midshaft.

It all depends on the price, if should be less then a k if it has a 650 motor still in it.

thats what i thought, but it does have a 701 in it. so do the 701's give good bottem end?

a 701 does, but i bet money thats a 650 unless you have seen the case/cly markings. if it has 6m6 on the cly its a 650. and other then a paint job and the f/a i dont see anything after market on it. can you get better pics?

no but i can ride it i am probly gonna try and ride it sometime this week, do you know if everything would bolt up to a round nose hull?

the midshaft is different for most, except for the 95 sn i think is the same as a rn.

you can look at my ski, its essentially a 2000 model+ stuck in a square hull.
i didnt find anything that wouldnt work on the sn from a rn. im sure there is something though.

I'm doing the same project. i just picked up a SN to swap into a RN hull i just got. From what i have researched, everything will swap over except the mid shaft. The water box is also diff. on the round nose, but i am pretty sure the SN box will slide in there. Also, the exhaust tube is a little shorter on the SN but i have heard you can heat it and stretch it. I plan on using a CF tube anyway. So it seems like a pretty easy swap. I'll start a build thread when i finally do it. For now i'm just enjoying the SN till winter.
