I have a 96 hull I picked up and need to split into two pieces. Anyone know the best way to do it? I need both pieces to be in useable shape for my mold.

read the top deck conversion threads. I think Steve said you can get the green glue to come apart with a heat gun. start at the front and work your way back heating small sections at a time.

I'm gonna redo the liner on my sqaure hood this winter. Same glue right? I might try a propane torch as well as a heat gun (being careful of course). I've never read of anyone trying to get the liner out using heat, mabye I've got the new best way :fingersx:

Actually, when I remove a top deck I pretty much cut it to pieces and then just rip it off. I never tried to save the top, just the bottom.

Good luck with that!:sneaky:

I'm with Ice on this one. Cut a bunch of wooden shims that you can drive into the bond line as you go. The heat gun does do wonders for the green stuff, but I imagine that theres a lot of it in the bond line.

Everybody is spot-on here, just keep doing what they say (except for the air chisel if you want to save the top deck). All of the sudden, it will start to go faster as you get a section loose. Dont be afraid to pry the hell out of it, the top deck is surprizingly flexible.

You will have to do some cutting around the bulkhead, it is the toughest area to get free.

Seems to be the bulkhead thats holding it up. I would rather not cut it up that way I have a template when it comes time to make that part... Ill mess with it a bit more... I have some pretty cool Ideas for the hull. So we will see.
