Specific Finger Throttle?

I was looking through my parts bucket from bmx bikes and mountain bikes and that and i saw a brake lever that's alloy and has a good spring on it still. So, what i'm thinking is as long as the bar diameter is the same, is it possible to use this as a finger throttle or do i need a specific one from a manufacturer? My ski is a 92 750sx without any mods if that helps.

we talked about this in the past. I think you can. Since you have one slap it on there and see if it works. Make sure you take some pictures and let us know how it goes.

brrrrraaaaaappppppp
i have one on my wifes 650sx....

works great as a new cable...when it breaks is onle a few bucks at a bike shop....all u need is the longer then normal cable....the one they sell for tandem bikes!

all good

I started with the stock (big and bulky) thumb throttle. the main reason i wanted to change it is because when my hands get cold they get hard to move and the thumb is very difficult to move but i could do the finger throttle on my 550 quite easily. So i dug through my bike box and found this lever from a bmx bike i had a couple months ago.
I finished it up with this lever and now here is how it sits on the ski now. No braaap but i still think it's cool.

If you're thinking of trying this and want to use the pad that goes over the bars, be prepared to cut into it like i did. I peeled away the cover first and glued it back down afterwards.
