Honestly, before you guys try and make it too complicated, will you at least try two things for me ross?
1) Pull off your plug boots and cut the wires back ~1/4 to 1/2" reinstall caps and boots.
2.) Either swap out your s/s switch or take the lanyard post switch apart and clean the 4 contacts in switch. Worst case scenario, you find that the contacts and the little forks in the switch are toast.
At least check it for me. I have had the exact symptoms you are explaining due to a start stop switch going bad... on 2 different skis.
