as far as wearing allot of gear mntbiking let me just say this...i used to wear helmet, gloves and kneepads only riding super rocky dh trails with high speed sections as well.. practicing for a race in idaho i was having trouble making a few really really rough sections so i decided to wear my full armour jacket that id had for a couple years for the first time (like the chicks in the video only not pink)....ended up hitting this g-out section way to fast and got ejected over the bars at like 50mph landed strait on my spine on a big rock that literally punched a 2" hole in the 1/8"thick panels that cover your spine..if i wasnt wearing it i for sure would have severed my spinal column..first and only time i wore it so go figure....
