So Jake, How's the new 08? Inquiring minds want to know

I love it!!! The stock steering is crap and definitely needs to be replaced. You can't turn left to save your life with that set up straight out of the factory crate (which is how I rode it last Saturday). The power was there. Very responsive, snappy, and fun to ride. The only downfall to it is that when the ski is leaning to the extreme right, it can bog/die. Not sure why, but Ross' stock boat does the same thing.

The stock tubbies are fun, but I can see how putting on an additional set would be even more fun. I rode Ross' GoFast boat and was in awe!!! The ideal set up for any ski, bar none!!!! I personally don't need that much power for my ski level, so it will continue to stay stock. The ski holds the wave face super nice. A very sticky ski to ride. It is very difficult to slide that rear out with the stock steering. On the GoFast boat is was very easy to do on command.

Overall, the '08 is a great boat to have. I am so happy that I bought one. The hull design will become popular for all types of riders, as soon as they get to ride one without the stock steering. The handle pole is just where I like it, so I won't need to cut it down to size like my '98. The most noticeable thing about the ski's performance is the setback pump. The ski really hooks up nice in the white wash and you feel that you can be more aggressive in the slop.

John, I'm gonna only fix the steering for Saturday's ride, so you'll still be able to experience the '08.

Jake are you planning on "D" cutting that plate before Saturday? Also I have a pattern for the extra "Throw" plate if you need it.
