its cool dj. thanks for the clarification charlie.

a pull start on a ski would be very interesting to watch if it stalled in the water:boggled: it would have to be inside the hood because there would be no way to seal the around the rope.

i dont know chuck that well but he doesnt seem like the kind of guy to make a board like dj's but i agree he should have let people know what kind of work and fabrication went into the ski.

Re: Sled Motor

A snowmobile engine would probably not be a good candidate for a freestyle ski unles you made a lot of modifications and reprogrammed the electronics. Although the thought of a 170hp 2 cylinder engine is appealing, its probably engineered for maximum hp in a very small power band. (Thats the great thing about CV transmissions.) It has a countershaft so it might not rev as quickly as a freestyler needs. It's probably alot smoother than we are used to and most definitely should redline well above anything we ride. You might have to make a custom pitch prop ( $$$$$)
The computer would expect greatly different air densities and temperatures than found in a hot wet ski. The mixture would be way too rich.
With some work, it might be better suited for use in a couch. Nice idea though.
Of course, I could be completely wrong:pat:

Is anyone out there building anything wild or bizarre?
