I know this has been covered before by I can't seem to find it now. What's the difference between the SN (90-95) and RN (96-07) cables again?

i do know that length differs. the square nose one is longer i think. do know that someone said that the post -06 cables where beefier. do not know if they upgraded the sn cable to or if its weaker.

steering and throttle cables are different.

SN Steering cable has different throw to a RN

SN throttle cable is longer than the RN, most guys use these with longer poles or a/m carb set ups in a RN as the throttle drum tends to be closer to the bulkhead, plus the SN throttle cable is cheaper than a RN and works just as well!

The SN steering cable is cheaper, about 2" longer, and has about 1/4-1/2" less throw.

The SN throttle cables are longer like steve said and good for rear of motor carb hookups.

IF you need a longer and beefier throttle cable that does NOT require a throttle lever adaptor get a Kawasaki throttle cable for a 92 750SX. They retail around 25 dollars and are the only way to go IMO. Alot of of us use them on RN and SN SJs.

Thanks guys. I bought the jetmaniac big bore throttle cable a while back and couldn't be happier. Just trying to figure out the steering now. Will probably go RN for the little bit of extra throw.
