Freestyle SN SuperJet Winter Re-Build

I have been been working on this re-build for a while and haven't posted anything. Been gathering parts more than actual building so far. I found some free time so...

I picked up this square nose hull from mademan9 that has footholds, watercraft hood and nose piece, versiplug, and has been reinforced. Nothing really to do to the hull besides fixing the nicks and dings (with more stickers).

Some things I'm using from my old ride:

B-Pipe
61x engine ( going to re-paint )
TDR waterbox
Aluminum handlepole ( UMI I think )
Some pump parts
D-Cut Ride Plate
Worx Intake Grate
UMI throttle

I've been slowly gathering parts for everything but here are the upgrades do far:

MSD enhancer
JSS ignition coil service + some other cables
Jetworks 44mm carb + ada throttle drum
Flow Control Valve
ADA Girdled Head w/35 cc domes
Blowsion Pole Spring
Dual Cooling Setup
9/15 Hooker
Stubby pump cone
500 Rule Bilge Pump
New ODI grips
Hood Straps
Limiting Rope

The one thing I wish I could really do is switch out my handle pole for something shorter.
I'd even take a shortened stock roundnose pole. If time and money permits I may do it, so if you got a good deal or wanna trade hit me up.

I'll try and post more pics when I get to the point of putting everything back together.

I got my blackjack carb in the mail today which I'm very happy about. Yesterday I painted my motor and stripped the paint off my B-pipe chamber. I got a friend that's going to buff it out for me...

I'm waiting on a couple things from jetmaniac so I can put my engine back together and then I'll post a pick of whats going in... (wish it was Xscream engine but I don't have that kinda cash right now).

I gotta buy a new torque wrench since I managed to break mine the other night :banghead:, torque wrenches aren't good hammers....

So I decided to give in and go all out and get the RN pole. I saw this hull for sale and made an offer on the complete pole so I got one coming this way. Looks like I'll have to shorten it which seems easy from some of the threads I have seen on here. To advance my riding to where I want it to be I think a shorter pole is necessary so this will work out better for me anyway.

This also means I will probably have an aluminum SN pole and brand new Blowsion spring for sale soon.

I also picked up some other things I needed today. hood straps, flame arrestor, outerwear, fuel lines. I still have to pick up a few more things now, but I'm really tired of buying parts and not building anything...

I'll post actual build pics when I get there.

I finally got some work real done on my ski. I got the pump/midshaft back and worked on the motor a little bit. Here's what's going in. A friend of mine is polishing up my b-pipe chamber for me so I'll get that back soon. Sorry if the pics are blurry.

I got the RN pole yesterday and I'm happy because it looks like it has come with more than I originally thought. I thought I was going to have to shorten the pole but that's already been done too so I happy. It's already black too so not painting. It fits the aftermaket hood nicely compared to my AC racing pole. I'm not sure what all comes with a stock RN pole but this looks like it has straight bars and a UMI or Blowsion turnplate.

Down side: My UMI throttle lever from my other bars didn't make it. The allen bolts were so stripped I tried to use a bolt extractor to get them out but that didn't work either...

More to come...

Haven't posted in a while because I ran into an issue. One of my midshaft bolts broke and was stuck in the hull...not fun. I tried everything under the sun to get it out. I had my ski standing straight up for a week with the bolt soaking in liquid wrench and it still wouldn't budge. I took it to a machine shop and they drilled and retapped it so now it's all fixed Now that its ready to go and I will start making more progress. My B-pipe is almost all polished up, big thanks to 2nd Nature for helping out on that one. I had some pretty deep scratches on there..here's a pic he sent me.

I got a couple small parts I have to order from Jetmaniac and then I'll be all set to assemble everything and ride.

I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend. I should be getting my shiny pipe soon and yesterday I put on my shortened RN handlepole with the hazard bracket. I'm also attempting to modify the chinpad. I turfed my fire extinguisher and it makes a nice front foot hold now and added a couple other little things like my hood straps. Here are some pics.

Had a friend come up to help out with my build to make some real progress and also double check all my work to make sure I don't F anything else up like I did the midshaft. Last weekend I finished up working on my handle pole conversion and turfed my chinpad. Today we put the motor, pipe, waterbox, exhaust, electrical system, ran all the cooling lines, other small stuff, and modded the gas tank some more. Didn't realize this but if anyone out there has done the internal fuel fill mod make sure to drill holes or cut down the part that sticks down into the tank or you'll loose like a gallon of gas...

Here are some pics:

Only thing left really is to do all the fuel lines. I need some help running the lines though. If you can read the diagram below and give me some feedback that I'm doing it right that would help me out. I'm going to run a primer and reserve line as well. My old setup had it this way but I can't remember 100% how it was setup.

After I get the fuel lines setup right all I need to do is tuck in everything nice and pretty. I'm hoping to make a video of me cranking it up for the first time for my next post.

I prefer to ditch the fuel selector and just run a send and a return right from your tank to the carb. I like the simplicity, but then you lose your reserve and for some thats not an option. If you want to keep it then your routing looks good except i would run your primer feed off your return line.

and why would you run the primer threw the return?

If you get a primer leak on the return (pressure) side, then your ski should still run correctly, although you have a leaking fuel fire hazard.

If primer is on the supply (suction) side and leaks, then you will be leaking air in and possibly leaning out and causing running problems.

There are pros and cons to installing a primer on either line.

Fuel routing looks good.

thanks for the help! I must say I did pretty good remembering everything considering I broke down my old ski last September.

I can't ditch the reserve just because I like the peace of mind knowing I got that extra little bit to get me back if need be. I liked the simplicity of not having a reserve and did consider it. I'm going to leave the reserve on the supply side for now as well.

I also noticed I drew the gas tank backwards lol...
