I rebuilt a neglected 650sx from the ground up and finally have it running. My issue is that it won't shut off with the stop switch. Every time I shut it off I have to put my hand over the exhaust to choke it out. I tested the stop switch with a multimeter and it shows a high resistance when depressed so I think it is working.
I also pulled the spark plugs and disconnected the stop switch completely and I am still getting spark. I think I even started the ski earlier with the stop switch wires completely disconnected. I am not great with electrical work but I have a multimeter and can follow directions.
Please help! This is my last problem besides tuning the carb in this long quest to hit the water.
