Ski return ?

Nephew was riding my ski and fell off . Ski didn't go in the circle lap where it returns to you - just went straight . Lucky that no one else was on the lake . What do you adjust to make the ski come full circle back to you ? I tried googling it to no avail .

I added a small mini bungee cord to mine to make sure it turned. Kinda getto but it worked, added to steering at top of poll.

Lanyard, make your nephew swim. You should wear it too. if it's an issue in the surf you can get a fire starter.

As for your question, you don't lube the cable. You replace it. There are clamps available for throttle style cables in the dirt bike atv market but I wouldn't bother with a boat. Also check your steering pivot tightness.

Idle may be a factor. Mine will spin even high enough to plow but that's with a full tank. I think my idle is about 1400 right now.

I think weighting can be a factor. Usually the pipe or battery is heavier and causes the ski to lean to one side. I've balanced my ski pretty well but ignored still spins.

Try playing with a few of those options.

Just a follow up on that lanyard thing... might be thinking who is this internet troll telling me what to do.

My first ski was a 650sx. It did not come with a lanyard. One day when I was riding the throttle went limp so I immediately shut it off. Good thing because it was stuck wide open throttle. I rode a mile back turning the ski on at wot and then shutting it off again with no safety if it got away from me. It was a scary day.

Turns out the throttle return spring on my 44 mikuni (upgraded from stock) broke.

Lanywards are important.
