Ski Issues

Ok , so I have one ski 2019 Yamaha ex deluxe , I have had 2 people say it pulls to the right. I cant really tell. But I do feel an issue with the steering. If you turn it it will go smooth then get stiff, then smooth , then stiff.. Almost like there is small stop points when turning the handlebars. its not a smooth transaction when turning. There is some scratches on the bottom but dont think those would make it drift to the right. . Any how if anyone has any suggestions before I run it to the shop, I would love to hear them .

It's normal for the ski to feel like it's pulling to the right slightly. It's inherent to all pwcs. It's referred to as the Left Turn Syndrome and is described very well in the Mikuni SBN manual. Have a look at page 21. Basically it is because the engine torque always applies pressure against the hull pushing it to the right. It was a very useful occurrence back in the day when the old Kawi standups had no lanyard...and the day wasn't super windy. You fall off, the ski naturally circles back to you on its own. On a windy day though...I have almost lost my ski because the wind would catch it and let it idle in a straight line...not an easy thing to swim chase an idling runaway ski with a pfd on. As for the sticky parts of the steering, it sounds like the cable has some issues. The steering should be buttery smooth all through the range on every ski.
