after riding for awhile. usually after a crash or something that moves the water around the engine compartment...i think anyways.

its fine for 20-25 minutes of surf riding and then its over. take it home, and it will usually start again. ?

now sometimes when i hit the start switch, the starter motor will continue after i let go...and wont stop till the battery is disconected or dies.....

im just gettin ideas before i get off work and tear it apart

i hate electrical problems...

thanks for any input

i thought about it. i just put on the one i got from chris awhile ago. so i suppose that one could be sticking...but with both s/s switch's i used, the both dont turn the motor over consistently. sometimes it works, sometimes nothing. ive checked all the connections and everything looks good.....relay maybe?

on my FX1 sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldnt.....id be dead in the water in the middle of the basin in Havasu punching the poop out of the start/stop......than boom it would work out of nowhere.

dam gremlins...... my problem was the start/stop..........

could be you got unlucky with 2 start/stops but i kinda doubt that.....could be a relay......... are your grounds ok???

Do you have a bilge pump?
I know my 550 will barely run when its got enough water in the hull, i normally let friends ride and it fills up a bit so it wont go when i gas it and kinda bogs down, if i idle around long enough it will start to pick back up, i think my problem would be solved with a bilge pump, but it only happens when friends ride, they arent good enough to stay up long enough for the stock bilge to drain.

so the one-way valve is good. im sending the s/s switch and wiring harness to jss to be gone over and rebuilt. hopefully that fixies the electrical problem, but i still dont have an idea why the ski would bogs and dies after a crash ......if the s/s coupler connection deal was bad, and a crash or little roll to the side got it wet, could that kill the motor?

any more ideas?

on my kawi the sealed connector from the ebox to the start stop was bad and my kill switch didnt work and i didnt find out till i turned the idle up enough that it would run. it was sittin in the driveway no hose in sight popped the plug wires. unless its a lean runaway that kills it.

and sometimes the plug would shift around and it would work other times it didn't just glad the throttle never got stuck open.

I've had a similar problem twice, once there was a little bit of saltwater in th ebox, the other time the manifold to headpipe gasket was bad and leaking water into the motor.

the water would leak backwards into the cylinder/combustion area while the motor was running? crazy. how long did it take to figure that one out? i woulda never guessed

You need to replace the start solonoid, its started to arc out probably if you don't find any water, supposedly caused from low battery voltage or poor connections.
