Any ideas, I have tried soaking overnight and heat, don't want to ruin the shaft from the twisting.

No offense Crab....but you do know it's a reverse thread, right?

I have had to use BIG cheater bars before. One I couldn't get off at all and had to get Impros to get it off.

I do, don't want to break something.

Use a bigger wrench. Are you trying to remove a Solas Prop?

If it is a Solas, I have found that if you use a bulkier solas prop tool, that it will produce better results. There are the tools that come free with the prop when you buy it brand new... those are garbage... I had to use one ordered straight from solas.

If you're getting past comfortable, pay someone to do it.

That's the tool I broke before I had to ask Impros for help.

the driveshaft will flex and twist ALOT! but dont worry, you wont hurt it.put your shaft holding tool in the vise, rest the pump on the bench to the right and get a long bar.i use my floorjack handle.have a helper continually tap the prop tool in the whole time you are leaning on the bar.it will come off

Use a pipe wrench to hold the shaft closer to the prop or you WILL bend and twist the shaft. If it is that hard to remove then using the spline tool will destroy your shaft. Better to have pipe wrench marks on the shft then a bent / twisted shaft. If you end up bending it or have already bent it then send it to me and I will have RD straighten it for you as he has many before for me. He has one there now to straighten:banghead: Trust me a BIG AZZ pipe wrench on the floor will help.

Put that prop in a big bench vise with a towel wrapped around it then use your largest breaker bar with a long pipe attached to the end of it and break that biatch lose.

Just be real careful on how you clamp the prop in the vise so you don't damage the blades.

Not that much heat, about 5-10 seconds to the hub in 3 places, soon as the heat soaked in she popped.

I have had the same problem in the past. Since then I have used good old messy nasty silver Permatex anti seize on the threads. No problems since then. Torque the impeller to 75lbs and it should pop easier next time with a lot less worry.
