SJ build - removing bulkhead entirely?

I watched XFT-Lou back in the day on the Mississippi holding onto the back of his 550 with a death grip as it was submerged rolling along with the current. I then pulled them to the side of the river but he had this look of fear in his eyes.

I'm sure if it starts going down, the water police/coast guard will be there to render assistance in a heartbeat.

Here's my bulkhead after taking it out, with the areas marked that I want to remove. The upper parts will be foamed/glassed over in the gunwales, the bottom will be open/reinforced with Versi-plugs in the back, and the nose will be foamed/glassed over.

The bulkhead weighs 5 lbs.

Yup! They were right next to me watching mine go down like a Whale turd telling me they are not allowed to tow boats and they would have to call a towing company. The VERY NEXT day I saw them tow in a huge yacht. :261:

It sounds like a killer Idea! I may do something close to that!

So basically you will install the top of the bulkhead to the top of the deck. Then turn it upside down and foam and seal that in with glass. It sounds like some work but the best idea I have heard in years.

What about scuppers? Where and how many?

Two questions.

What is a Versiplug?
What stops the foam from falling down from inside the rails?

SXRs come stock kinda like this with a drain plug in the back. The Bulkhead just isn't cut out as much on a SXR.

It's like a mini ball scupper. I'm just not sure if 2 of those will give me enough flow to empty out like I want without bilge pump(s). With the back open and normal riding angle, a pump under the driveshaft wouldn't do much, it would have to be in the back somewhere, on each side.
