WFO posted on pwctoday basically stating that x-h2o is losing members like crazy.

I have been seeing growth lately in a couple of different areas from businesses getting involved and innovations, etc.

Anyway, I looked and the daily average of registered users (not counting guests) online for this week each year is:

2006: 182
2007: 455
2008: 523
2009: 624
2010: 718

That's pretty solid growth IMO for such a small niche sport.

I'm sure WFO will find a way to try to tear these numbers down like he does with anything we do here, but there they are.

I never thought for a second it was shrinking....lol.....BS....

So many newbs getting in to this! Its great! Flatwater is even looking more appealing than ever with these 1000cc motors.....and that is a huge chunk of riders IMO...

I'm even getting stoked to try flatwater backies if I can make this 865 or 1000 happen...because the height and fun factor is finally there IMO....

I bet you that number will increase again for 2011....1000++

Good to know Darrin, personally I have been interacting with quite a few newcomers and took that to mean that things were picking up. :dunno: Maybe some existing members are seeing a drop in their own cliques and take it to mean an overall trend...

I'm with Mat, the more mainstream these big motors become, the more appealing it is as well and the numbers will continue to grow.

Darin- did you drink some koolaid or something? Who cares what WFO says? He is a decent guy and very knowledgeable about certain things but if you don't agree with him about everything he gets a little attitude quickly. pfft! whatever. thanks for the advice and all but its just advice. about jetskis. its not life or death.

I see a lot of new names I don't know- constantly. I think SFL IS saving the sport. :eek:uttahere:

The poor economy has actually gotten alot of old unused and mothballed skis back into circulation, granted alot of them are in parts now but still, it all helps.

I wouldn't doubt it if another 500 users were just lurking for info as guests? Maybe more...

I am finding that a lot of the PWCTODAY community is moving over here, as it is getting harder to have an "uninfected" thread over there.

I think the X is more actively dedicated to the topic of jetskis, and less tolerant of the rantings of lunatics.

I find it interesting that some of the biggest problem-children over there are also members here - but they behave on here.

The site management here must be doing something right.

I have to agree with that. I used to be over there more often, but now I pretty much just check the classifieds every now and then. The threads with 200+ responses of whining is just too much. Thankfully there are only a couple of those threads here haha :veryhappy:

The dedication to standups here is a lot better too. I learn a ton more on this site.
