to bad noone has a trinity out west. those aussie boy eat em up though

im pretty sure Luke (Mardon) is the only guy in the country with one....

Get the carb setup from Art and you won't have to tune.

Or just throw on a cheap single for now so you can ride and worry about spendier duals later. You're riding surf, who cares about a bit of power difference. The time you spend worrying about this should be used to ride and better your technique instead.

true, arts very good. yeah find a stock 44 and run it.

Maybe my 48mm BJ will finds its way onto my engine (still running almost untouched dual 38's) after hearing that a single has a potential to "kick them in the sack" lol :) Just need the ATP mani...

I found when I ran a TLR modded 44 single that I was constantly having to tune it. Weather change and off comes the hood. Part of it may have been those stupid ass JSS knobs causing the screws to move around.

As far as power goes.

My TLR Ported cylinder with the single modded 44 hit like a hammer. But, it sucked if you wanted to take a long ride up the lake or chasing cruisers. The power was either on or off. No in between. Hence, I swapped to some nice Team Scream 44's.

you were getting worse on off power with a single tlr 44 than a set of modded dual 44s? first time ive heard that. What was done to the tlr carb?

Huh?

Carb was a modded 44 by TLR. He bores the bottom out to 48mm.

The hit was incredible. But you were either on or off with the power. Plus not long WOT type runs.

Gave you a lightswitch type effect.

im getting a stock 46 to replace my novi 48, per rick roy and tc recommendation. the 48 rips on top but leaves bottom to be desired. we will see if theres a diff

never seen a tlr carb in person, wonder why he would bore the bottom out larger than the top,the idea is to speed the air up into the motor, dunno why you would want a smaller entrance than exit into the manifold, suppose that accounts for the on off switch effect

doesnt the size of the venturi just underneath the booster being smaller account for most of that increased pressure for better signal, how would it being bigger help?

Yes it speeds it up causing a low pressure on the jets. However the point below that would have less pressure there fore the air would go faster through the venturi as well. A bit like having a big dump of a turbo

Allows bigger pilot and l/s needle with out flooding when the throttle is craked, me thinks.

All I can say is it worked really well. Like i said, Same setup Rick Roy use to run.

Past couple of years I have run a 84mm big bore ported cylinder. This summer I went back to my TLR cylinder. I had forgotten just how well that motor setup worked. I would stack this setup up against many of equal size etc etc..... Wish TLR still did watercraft.

On my 838cc Lamey I went from a single Novi 48 F Bomb to a pair of BlackJack 46s and I will NEVER go back! The Novi was a great carb and did a great job but the pair of BlackJack 46s produces ALOT more power and are absolutley spot on perfect for what I like my motor to do! Now for the sickening part-I paid the same money for 2 brand new BlackJack 46s as I did the 1 Novi 48!!! If people simply called Art to ask the price on BlackJacks there would be no other carbs out there. Art sells them really cheap IMO. (Not to mention that anytime you change your setup, call Art and he tells you what to do to your carbs).
