Single FullSpec or Dual Buckshots?

both butti and I have run into troubles with riva single carb manis and 48mm carbs with ported motors....

switch to BCW mani and no problem....

I ran a single 44 T on T cases with riva mani as well on a stock port with NO problem and plenty of WOT runs.....

my LPW freeride cyl sits atop X cases with a TLR 48 and it hits very nicely....oh, and its jetted the same as SFL's and waterfreaks T cased motors with the same carb

Who knows. But that is the only difference.............. The Cases.

61x(cases) = Designed for Single Carb
62T(cases) = Dual Carbs

That the only thing That is really different........
other than the ATP Manifold, all the other conversions use a Kawi Manifold...... So, lets just say that it one of 2 things, Cases or The Manifold, that is the only common denominator.........

Yup.
But in addition, consider that an identical cylinder runs WOT on a single on X cases. That's what makes me doubt the cases theory.

I tells ya, it's the manifold.
Ironically, that's what stopped me from going single on my engine. The simplicity appealed to me. But I didn't want to drop a couple hundred bucks on a manifold.

I"m putting the frankenstein back to gether with a 46, I might have ollie mod it to a 48. it's almost 800cc on an x case.

Will someone do some reading on how a carb works. A carbs job is to atomize fuel into the air. You can as much fuel as you want, it may just run rich. A 44 mikuni can supply about 75 hourse power, do the math. 1/2 pound of fuel per hour per hourse power. Free riders want tourque now, freestylers want alot of tourque now and through the manuver. Not having a bomb site in the carb greatly reduces the signal to the carb a low-mid engine speeds. Not having a bomb site might let more cfm in but if the carb doesn't atomize the fuel well your still not going to make more power. It comes down to what type of riding do you do. Freeride, a single 48 Full Spec is fine. Get a automotive book on carbs and then you will start to understand what and how a carb works.

Straight from Herb Kane from Mikuni, one body mounted carb is good for 110hp at 6000rpm on a Sea-doo 800 engine. That is the same pump as on all SBN carbs. At 7000rpm it's good for around 125-130hp if I recall, but can check my notes from Herb later.

The thumbrule he put out is 1gallon/hour is about 10hp.

I just need a set of dual 44s to finish the 62t motor I was putting together, and you guys start this again. :banghead: I had my mind made up. I'm using the top end from my 61x to put on this motor. Somebody send me an ATP manifold for single carbs, and some dual 44s. I'll try them both. :sneaky:

Just go with the dual 44's. That's what I run (and lots of other folks) and I am very happy with it.

110hp? that sounds like a lot, how about a 46 or 48? 115hp and 120hp?
