Get a hood & hood seal that keep the water out to begin with.

Best option, imho.
I run dual Pro-K's, (mostly) without issues.

I can't believe anyone would vouch for Pro-K's. I've had two sets completely disentigrate on me. The most recent were a set that was less than a month old! I had heard others say they fall apart, but figured that was b.s. until I ran them myself. Both of the plastic cones have fallen down onto my carb bells and caused the engine to basically starve itself for air while I was riding.

Yeah the aftermarket hood is the best option... in the "old" days we blocked off the front air supply and created a new air supply near the rear of the hood -- this is possible if you can't get a aftermarket one anytime soon.

Aftermarket SN hoods are very spensve, I'm going the cut and glass route on mine, I have 2 hoods so why not chop up one. There are some VERY good write ups too with picts. I need to find a cheap aftermarket SN nose piece.

What hood are you running?

I have Run Pro-Ks for the past few years with no problems, even on the 66E motor with shook like a harley.

A missing coupler cover will put water in your carbs pretty badly.

Bad/missing equipment = problems.

They cost under $20 new. Not an expensive part.
