it all depends on what you want to do with it i enjoy my fx1 cause it is all i have riden. they are super fun ski once you get used to it, and they are super easy project skis. for flat water i would pick this up (im sure you can get the price dropped down 1600 is a good price). if you are going to surf ride i would look for a superjet they are more stable and easier to ride and also easy to work on.

You guys dont think $2000 is too much for it?

I think that's too much for a 95. I'm hearing guys getting 2000+ SJ's with B-pipes and othe rmods for $2K. :dunno:

Mint only matters if you want a mint ski, if you're going to molest it, then it just needs to be complete and well maintained.

Fx-1

How many more "Mint" FX-1's are out there? Can you buy a "Mint" SJ for that price? 30lbs. lighter, all fiberglass construction, very limited production, the question should be: What are you waiting for? The ski will bring $2K easy in one more month!:Banane09:

:haha: Yup.

I say the FX. They were around 6 grand new.

I just sold my extra one for $2100 a few days ago. Outside some sun fading it was like new.

I've owned an FX-1, or two (alright, 14, but who's counting) and I've owned just about every FX-1 configuration there is. I LOVE mint, original skis. But when it comes to the FX-1, and you plan on actually RIDING it, a stock one isn't a whole lot of fun, and it's not easy for a 180 lbs+ guy to ride.
That being said, if you are going to RIDE the ski the way most guys on this site RIDE their skis, I'd pass on the mint one at $2,000.
Wait a bit, find one not mint in the $1200-$1500 range, then spend $500 on a JD plate, JD intake grate, some zero degree bars and grips, maybe mill the head up to 175psi, and get an aftermarket impeller. That's close to $500 right there, and you'll like the ski a whole lot better if you are RIDING it.
If you want an FX-1 to LOOK at, buy Danger Boy's for $4500 instead. (I would ;) )

does it have any mods at all?????
I think its way high without at least a pipe. Do the math on the mods you will need and want and then see what you have.
I would buy one less mint with mods for that price LONG before one stock.

FX1's are nice but with the 30# lighter comes 550 handling and 122mm pump hookup vrs the SJ (RN or SN) 144mm pump and MUCH improved handling. Just my opinion.

keep in mind you posted in the FX1 section so most replies here are going to be favorable. Post it in General and see what happens LOL.
