And all being said, the answer to your thread's title question is

In my opinion, no do not build your first ski.

You need to get to know the skis first, then build one. You'll save a lot of head aches and frustration in the end.

Wow, that is mint, but pretty price as you mentioned.

I sold a very well set up limited square for that price.

Mine had a 62T engine, b pipe, RN handlepole, steering, ride plate, grate, bilge, pro-tec modified CDI, etc.

I think you should keep looking. Sure its mint, but even so its $700-900 too high. I just sold my mint 650 SJ for $900.....

Anybody can shine up a ski like that.


does seem a little on the high side, but sometimes its worth spending the $$ on a clean ski, problem is you never know what engine work has been done

there have been a few rn up for not much more than that
