I have a friend that has 2-1989 waverunner 500's on a small dumpbed trailer rigged up for skis. I was thinking i could use the trailer to haul my riding mower and some of my lazy friends that dont like my standup might be able to come along and have some fun. both need batteries and are in somewhat of a rough condition. i think one was rattle canned for instance. i have seen them both run. so tell me....is trailer plus the two skis worth $600??

I've seen WR500's go cheaper locally (ie $50 not on a trailer for one that needed a little work), depends on exact condition. If they both run... well who knows. However those parts are harder to come by.

Keep in mind couches are worth peanuts to those who drop 10K on standups, and not a lot of people would buy a couch unless it was free and had parts they could snag. Or if your name is nikad.

depends on ur finances. if u get them running for cheap, you'll make ur money back, or most of it anyway. It gets old going by yourself.
im going to end up buying a couch for friends (or girls hopefully).
+u get a handy little trailer. those have 1000+ uses. ;->

My buddy bought 2 wr500's in pretty decent shape for 600 on a good trailer. 2 years ago. Both ran but you also have to remember that riding 2 up on a 500 somebody needs a paddle to get it up on plane. I would spend the 1000 for a good trailer and a cheap beatup 94 seadoo or something that will get up on plane for others to ride.

Unless you can sell the skis off of the trailer for 500 then you got a good deal on a trailer.

I got one for cheap. My son who weight 100# soaking wet has fun on it.
But, he will outgrow it in a year or two I'm afraid.
They are bulletproof tanks, I use mine for newbies to ride and as a tow truck/photo platform!
