It turns out, I'm running a stock 13/18 impeller that I bogarted out of my other boat but ran into an interesting loading issue in Navarre.

Here are a few pics with my issues:

It's a Solas Mag Pump - the same kind from the Octane.

The first, second, and third pics show the threads on my pump. The washer installed into the pump to protect the bearings but I haven't been running it because when it's installed, my prop (stock) mashes onto the washer and will turn no further nor will it spin from the engine.

It's a 140mm pump and without the washer, my prop fits just fine (although it was very loose when I removed it tonight - with my hand).

Dave said I could run the stock SX-R prop without issues. What gives?

Thanks.

the washer is held on by impeller onto seal spacer it looks like.
odds are when you tighten impeller it forces the washer against the body of pump.
wrong assembly stack up in pump hub?spacer needs to slightly protrude more?can shaft be pushed forward a bit more?
could explain why impeller was loose.

carefully grind the face of the lip on the pump down slightly. the prop is not seating on the shaft until the washer has made contact. the other thing is w/ that washer/ spacer in there it looks like you would have increased the spacing of the prop from the stator.
