Custom/Hybrid Shawn_NJ's XS865 RICKTER FS2 Build

Ya Shawn we did that on Bruces fixed steer build. Nice clean easy in and out of the box from the hull. Only thing better is using the kawi sxr box with yami guts. Bruce didn't want to but I am.

I agree, I would rather make up a brand new harness with Jap style connectors that extends out from the ebox whatever length is required. It would come with all the connections needed to fit to your start/stop switch, just cut off the oem connectors and crimp on the new ones.

It would be plug and play for those who already have JSS start/stops.

Get me that measurement and I will make it up and ship it out to you, free of charge. I have always offered the first of a new product free to the person who helps get it built.

Dude, THANKS!!! Unfortunately I had problems @ work, so I only got to get the gas tank installed and fuel lines/water lines finished & dressed today. Tomorrow night I will measure out the wires.

No hurry, I'm recovering from sinus surgery and need to be taking it easy this week anyways. Just get the length when you can and I can likely have it to you before it conflicts with your build schedule.

Sounds about right!! LOL
It's crazy what some people do to wire these skis. To me wiring the ski right is the most important thing! I like to know when a wave is crashing over me that when I hit start it's going to!!!! And that my bilge will work!

FINALLY DONE! Was delayed 1.5 weeks because I was completely swamped @ my job. Just needs gas and battery strapped down. 100% I am test riding it this weekend, and might even get to start it up tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats man.

Thanks Matt! Its just hitting me now that this insane ski is mine...LOL.

ready to roll.........cool! You hitting Wavedaze?

Nope. Unfortunatley I have to be oncall Saturday, and that will suck too much fun out of a trip I gotta pay for. Was actually thinking of coming down your way Sat or Sunday (or both) for some motor break in / trial by fire..

Seriously. Never had a 3.5month build before.

Congrats Shawn....Looks Great! That's a bummer you will be missing wavedaze, but let me know when you head down to ride with the Mafia. Hope the test ride goes smooth!

Curious whats different? I just added quick connects for flushing, but its plumbed exactly how my xs771 is.

Got some time late in the day to play around with the ski. Gassed it up and connected the battery. Crank over like a champ but no fire... Painfully pulled the ebox back out and opened it up. Of course I forgot to connect brown wire from the stator to the EPIC. Connected that, and FUWKING BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPP! Ski got its post build wash and its loaded in the van for riding tomorrow!

What a day....Rode with the Mafia. Fired the motor up for the 2nd time ever, then immediately rode it into the surf!! First off I have ALOT of learning to do,,,. One thing that I need to get figured out is the footstraps / footholds. I am pretty sure I need a FFH. But otherwise the ski ran FLAWLESS, and the hull is just incredible. I could not possibly be any happier with the ski. It handles on the water like how I would imagine a Ferrari handles on pavement, night and day better then my RN. The 865 delivers linear smooth, yet VIOLENTLY strong BRAPAGE. I cannot wait to put in time on flat water and experiment and learning the handling, and getting use to riding a pole ski.
