Setting up pro-tec trim nozzle

Just got trim nozzle for superjet off ebay. Its supposed to be trim up or trim down. Its currently set up to drop and can't figure out how to make it trim up for the life of me. Can anyone explain/show me how the mounting brackets mount for trim up.

The bracket that the cable stop is on needs to be turned around. You might have to move the cable stop to the other end of the bracket, but I'm not sure.

Here are a couple of pics from mine for reference.

I have the same setup. I dont have any pics right now but those are good ones. You need to mount the little cable block on the side of the bracket nearest the nose of the boat. Now when you put the cable in it will be pulling the nozzle up instead of pulling it from the other side (read of boat) brigging it down.

I went a step further and took a grinder and clearenced the rings and nozzle so that I could get mroe throw out of it. You will find that it throws down further than up. If you pull the ring off you can see that you can really grind a lot off (and keep it strong) and get a lot more movement our of it.

If you are using the Pro Tec Lever you will get good throw. If you are using the UMI style lever you will need to heat it and bend it (very carefully. You have to get it right the first time or you will break it.) . Here is a picture of how much I bent my UMI lever. If the lever doesnt throw far enough itself then neither will the nozzle.

Hope this helps.

I have another one that Pat at XMetal modified for me by cutting off and moving the cable point on the ring from the top to the side, right next to the pivot point. This gives maximum throw for a given travel of cable. You will also need to do the added clearancing like Mike did to take advantage of this.
