Okay, Bill's over here lookin at it. Here's some pics of what the fire did to it (none of Mike's arm...sry, but I'll get to the story after the ski is okay). Then some other pics of my attempts at wrenching until 4am. I kept flushing the ski, and sucking out the water with the wet vac (about four times)...kinda like a dentist doing a root canal it seemed. Then I pulled the carb cover, then the plugs, then the electrical box fuse. I couldn't get the stupid cover off. I scrubbed the carb screens down, and then found whatever that black rectangular thing is down in the bottom of the ski loose (looks like something the battery may sit on to raise it up). Bill says not to take the cover off the electrical box, but I don't think he understands what I mean by completely submerged for 30 mins. Will post up the verdict on if any hoses are leaking when he's done.

I hope SuziQ's ski will be ok. I told my Dad about this and he told me about a boat he had that blew the manifold and filled up with water back in the early 60's at Sebastion. He said he wrenched on the motor until about 4am as well and then fell asleep at work the next day. But he saved the motor!

Since Saturday was the 6th time I've ever been on a jetski my body feels like it has been wrecked. I've not been this sore from water sports since I don't remember when. I even took tonight off from kitesurfing I'm so sore!

SuziQ-I think your hood seal needs replacing. It looked similar to the seal on my ski before I replaced it last week My ski took on a lot of water the first time I went out at Sebastion a few weeks ago. This weekend the ski was almost dry after riding it this weekend.

See ya'll next time.

Ski is fine! :cheer: Cept not sure about the battery…I put a trickle charge on it around 3am, but maybe I didn’t have it clamped well…trying again. Bill (he’s really so cool ) installed a something or other, lol, oh…a flush kit w/ a quick release and taught me how to do it. Doesn’t appear to be leaking from any of the hoses, but he told me to dump it in the lake with the cover off watch if it takes on water from the hose running under the pipe. He said if not, then Nick called it right and I didn’t get the cover on properly! Speleo Scott, I asked him about the hood weathering or whatever it’s really called, but he said his is worn more than mine and doesn’t leak, so I dunno there. Plus you said you saw something else wrong, but I don’t recall what it was.

Anyway, here’s the story quick like kinda. I took the sj out two sessions, rode it over on the north break with the quys…didn’t fall once I might add if anything good. Then I went out the third session with Savannah Scott (one of my hero’s:bigok:)…we get right in the hole with the sharks and I fall. It wasn’t flat anymore, it was small, but choppy/sloppy and I had already had my workout for the day I guess, for I was weak. I fell twice I think, but got right back on. Then I gave it gas, and watched myself slowly torpedo down…reason unknown to me at the time. Savannah switches skis with me, and tells me I can’t ride in the chop (instantly agreed). I had ridden his ski earlier (what a tight lil scream machine…I love it), but this time it took off about 6’ in the air when I was just laying on it (twice). I sucked in enough water to sink me, so when I finally got up on it, all I could think about was getting away from the sharks and to land, so, lol, I took off and left my wingman with my sinking ski of all crazy things (I was freakin)! I regained my composure b4 I got to the bridge and turned around to go back after him. I didn’t see him! I was thinking maybe he got it cranked and took off with the guys, but I kept looking (thinking don’t leave my wingman), and sure enough I found him WAY OUT THERE! Luckily two three seaters were coasting next to him (just staring at him like duh). I start pulling him with his ski, but it was so choppy we weren’t making progress with the ski full of water. Then comes Uncle Stricky:newangel: and all to help save the day. We hooked my ski up to one of the three-seaters (backwards we learned later), with the yellow tow boat hovering luckily. When they were towing my ski, you couldn’t see it AT ALL. It was trolling through the hole slow motion, so it’s new name is “Shark Bait”!

We get it on land, and everyone starts tinkering with it to save it luckily!!! So, after it sunk, it got torched too (I think Drea set Mike on fire, but I can’t recall, lol), all I recall is screaming “dive and roll” as I ran for the fire extinguisher!!! This ski was SO SO SO clean, I’m hating it! But, I learned more in one day around you guys than I have the entire time riding standup, so it’s cool I guess. I def became friendly with my ski when I got home, and Bill says it looks excellent on the clean end…he says it will be fine!

Thank you again everyone, you are all awesome:purr:. I owe two cans of ether to peps (Drea and someone) and then Speleo I owe you your plugs! Savannah, how is your ski? I owe you big time Sir! I know I offered drinks/shots to all, but my receipts to reflect it was all done, so I still owe and won’t forget. Who is the nice man with the dog named Sasha? Oh, and Gary from Winter Park made it home alright (the guy I was concerned didn’t make it outta the surf fyi…was his first meet and he had a blast with you guys…wants to do it again). Whomever said Sebby once a month, I agree (on the b1, unless it’s flat, lol). Yes Stricky, I’m on self imposed exile until I build the ankles up (they were on fire, but it is def a good workout…I love it)! Starting on the pics (mike shooting you a pm with my # so you can tell me how to do that deal with em).

SuziQ-I noticed when your ski was upside down that you had the stock plastic intake grate on. I found my ski was nearly impossible to ride in choppy/slopy conditions with the stock plastic grate on. The first time I went out the inlet I was scared due to the way the ski handled the sloppy conditions.

Per Yamasluts advice I got a Worx201 intake grate from Legdrag ASAP and it made the ski ridable in the chop/slop inlet waters.

Glad you got it running and hopefully all will be well. I would have been devastated if I sunk my ski the day after I bought it.

Let's do the Sebastion ride/party that I missed :friday: again very soon!

150 pics, so I'll mess with the rest some day, but these are the best of what I got in the water, and I didn't do ya justice. I got a few pointers on the camera from Mike afterwards, so hopefully it will help next time. no order...five at a time is all I know how to do...
