Sealing Off My Bulkhead.

Shifty

- SuperJet Thursday -
I am about to install my footholds and figured I should do something about the poor seal between my upper/ bottom deck and bulkhead. I see the green glue yamaha used and I would rather use that but I think they no longer sell it? It is sealed pretty well except for the taped over factory fill holes, exhaust penetration and In some areas, where I can see between the bulkhead and hull, I am ableto see the two part foam Yamaha used to in the tray area.

This is a new ski ('08) and has never gone under so its not too late to try to seal it up I believe.

Should I used some epoxy mixed with cabosil around the seam? I am not in the mood and have no time to reinforce (seal off the bulkhead) at the moment so this is not an option.

Thanks for your responses.

You can use some 5200 on it, that should seal it well. I used it on the back side of my bulkhead when I had the tray cut out. As far as the foam fill holes I glassed over mine with epoxy resin and some cloth.

I used 5200 fast cure. I put a bead in the groove then pressed it in/smoothed it with my finger to get rid of any air pockets. If I was to do it again (when I do it again), I wouldn't bother sealing it. Use pink insulation foam rather than 2-part expanding, and install drain plugs.
