Nice welding :fing02:

If you turn the pump housing upside down the steering cable will clear the cooling boss fitting.

That should work, Just have to replumb the water lines inside which is even simpler cause I'm not using the siphon bilge anyway.

Thanks guys!

You're right... that cast aluminum is very hard to TIG weld without creating pin holes. Also, you have to be careful not to warp the pump housing on the inside when welding.

The only problem with turning the pump housing upside down is that you will have to re-drill the alignment pin holes because they're a bit off center, but it's an easy fix.

Rode it this weekend, couldn't really tell if it was throwing me off at all. there are so many variables that the little deflection caused by this is irrelevant.

Good Question, and that's exactly the answer that I'm trying to find out. I haven't ridden it yet to see how much of an effect it has if any. I was hoping for more guys to chime in and say that you just don't feel it so don't worry about it. Meanwhile if there was a simple solution I'd get on it this week while I'm not able to ride anyway.

If you're headed straight at a wave for a backflip, and pull the trim then nail the gas, it will put some rotation into the ski that you don't expect.

True, if it turns the nozzle enough, his may not be turning the nozzle enough to effect the attitude of the ski as it leaves the setup wake or wave (ocean).

That was what I was thinking. Good deal.

Depends on how bad it is....................

Mine pulls 20-30 degrees......enough so that if I hit it going straight (to jump over a buoy or something) I sideslap from the rotation of the ski to the right induced by the nozzle!

Been wanting to try backies but not till this is fixed...............

What is the purpose of the alignment dowels anyway? The pump fits together with a precise fit from the alignment ring machined into it? The nozzle bolts would keep it from rotating, as would the press fit. Seems like its overkill.

Blowsion nozzle is just as bad. I can def. feel the difference. i still cant figure out the compensation. problem is for the real hard backs you need to lean all the way back with both straight arms.
