watching that makes me wish i was around back in those days...i would have loved to race slalom..those guys really knew how to lay it down...

I was around in those days. They were good times, but not any better than now. As a matter of fact EVERYTHING is better now. Most of those pics you posted all came from World Finals which is still going on now on the 2nd week in October. I haven't missed a World Finals since I started going in in 1985. The sports definately evolved. I've raced and did freestyle but IMO nothing comes close to surfriding, which there wasn't very much of back then. We're much better off now.

I'd rather watch kroger ride two 550s at the same time than someone do 10 backflips. Riding two 550s is the same power as those billit 1100s right?

I wore out my vhs copy of Jet Waves, seriously. Whenever I rode surf after that I tried to envision what Watkins did on his 550, even when I went to the SJ with 3 times the hookup/horsepower. He was so smooth. Watch at 0:54 when he lands that off the lip and immediately is looking for his next turn, not looking around to see if anyone saw it.

Somewhere I have a pic of me in my Body Glove suit, neon yellow/purple, oh yeah.

Me too, who can convert it to DVD and sell them on here. Lets get this freakn vid out there. That is some seriously awesome motsurf riding on some seriously less superior equipment. Watkins style reminds me of TC surf style. Awesome vid.

I think if I lived near the coast my skis would be so much more basic, geared towards this style riding. A huge, clean re-entry impresses me more than a huge BF although I do respect the BF as well.

ill make u guys a copy of jetwaves..dont feel comfortable selling it but if u send me a dvd in a self adressed envelope ill hook u up...murph made me a copy..we watch it on the way to the beach in my buddies truck everytime we ride...watkins was on another level...when i am going up to hit the lip i think what would scott watkins do??

the opening section of jetwaves watkins is riding a kawi 750 and is doing turns where the top of the hood is literally underwater he is laying it over so far...he makes that ski look like it weighs 50lbs..
