I can't emphesize OEM pistons enough. Really people? You spend $500 on a port job, and try to save $40 bux when it comes to the pistons? I can get thousands of hours out of a motor with oem pistons.
OEM Yamaha pistons, Vertex, and Pro-X are all made by ART. They are all the samebut I guess Vertex puts some coating on their stuff or something. I've never really looked into it.
If you look on the underside of an OEM piston, you should see ART. Same with a pro-x, I've never looked at the underside of a Vertex, so I can't confirm on that one.
