GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
Wow, SBT really lowered their price on the 650/701/760 crank shaft!! They were $275.

Heres my take on the SBT crank shaft:

I've been beating the snot out of a SBT crank now for 2 very long seasons with 62T cases/61X cyl. at 84mm, huge epoxy/case porting/ full freestyle ported cylinder. ADA head/215 lb. compression, dual 44 Brap Jacks/V force II reeds/ Ported B-pipe w/limited chamber and MSD dual digital TL, etc.. Its been a champ believe it or not! I've even rode with it this year prolly 6-8 times so far. I only use Maxima 927 oil w/half 110/91 octane fuel.
On this engine last summer the throttle cable broke and it ghost rided up on shore and ran WFO for like 2 minutes and did not blow in the 110 degree weather!

I'm gonna get another one and replace it this year just for good measure, and the old one is gonna go in my B2 w/Frankenstein motor that I ride my kid around on.

I bought this crank new from UncleHulka for $200 shipped. He won it at the 06' Lanier ride.

I am a believer in the SBT crankshaft now. I used to detest SBT back when they were first starting out like 12-15 years ago. My friend bought a couple of their so called "rebuilt" engines back then and they were both fuct. It was indeed, SBT = Somebody Bought Trash! Or Short Blown Technologies! lol

They have come a long, long way since then!

wasn't there a thread about really cheap chinese bearings on sbt cranks sometime in 2007 or 2008 with peeps having problems and poor assembly as well?

Maybe I got a real good one, I dont know. But I'm gonna try another one at $195! and they are welded also!
I'll report back next year. lol

The best place I have found for a Hot Rods is from Dan at Waterworks.
For $415 I got a new one for a friend and that include trueing and welding. I think it was $375 for new without welding.

With all this support for SBN cranks, and the fact that they are so cheap, it seems kinda dumb to spend a buttload more money for a "high end" crank.

Please, consider heating the coupler half. It softens the hardened teflon paste (if used) and of course expands the aluminum more than the steel of the crank, 200-250 deg is ideal.
