Surfriding San Diego area riders

Im guessing water temp was somewhere around 60 degrees Friday. But coming from Vegas where it was about 100 degree plus air temp, I got real cold last ride. Your mileage may vary...

Air temp has to have a good effect on it. The water here is mid 60's but air is in the 80's daytime, so not too bad yet. I rode in 50deg water last year with 70 air and I thought I was fine til I got back to the truck and my heels were numb. I'm trying to come up with a suit for the graduating son still. Not finding much locally yet... Fingers crossed. Up here we don't need suits often and he never picked one up. So I'm scroungin local shops, but their inventory is suckin so far.

San Diego craigslist has suits if you dont mind used and you have the time. Just a thought

I've alos got a few that would fit him just fine. They are all pre-peed in but that is the best I can do.

We're all loaded up and ready to roll out at 4am ish Wed. In theory.... Can't wait to meet everybody and see the sons excitement. I'll be in touch.

The forecast is saying 1-2'. That will be fun for Jay as this is his first time in the surf, but Zack and Stan this problably isn't the best time for a visit, if I were you I'd save your gas money for a bigger swell

hey jay, congrats on your sons graduation. he has a lot of friends now that he isnt even aware of.it doesnt matter what branch he is in we are all brothers and i got his 6 any day. tell him to keep his head down, even in the states.

Well my son graduated and it was awesome. But he was too tired and nervous for the ride. Actually they just got out of bed. So we didn't ride, but have a great family day planned and will still have fun.

My son sends a HUGE thanks to Ross and everyone else that offered up skis and hospitality for the ride. We have talked of setting up another trip here to San Diego in the future. He will be stationed at Pendleton for more training very soon and we may be back down. Hopefully... Fingers crossed...

OK Here's the report; Crazy day! Mainly because at least 25 guys showed up to ride and even one girl. Thats the most people I think I've seen riding at the same time ever! The weather was great, sunny and clear. The surf was pretty small but once everyone spread out down the beach there were waves for all. Don't worry about missing out Jay, Family comes first, there will always be next time.

We'll do. Appreciate the love man! We're really proud of him. He seems to be very pleased with how it all went for him. Lots of good stories and very few bad ones. Actually only one. I guess this one drill instructor liked to call him "fatass" because he was always mixing up random desert like chow, with whatever was around. Our family likes cooking, so I get the mixing food gig. So I laughed at him... Dad's a dick lol!
