My ski was flushed after my last daytona ride, but its super frozen right now. Everything. I had to reef on the flywheel bolt (not a great idea) to break the ice holding the pump in place, and I had to yank my super corroded bendix. My question is it safe to start up my motor when its frozen and there could be ice in the cooling jackets and stuff? I hope once its started the ice would melt but could there be any repercussions from starting it right now? I want to refog and rewinterize it. And on a side note, what should I let my bendix soak in to clean it and how can I clean out the flywheel and stator area?

How long are you planning on running it?
If you're not going to run it for long, and without water anyways, the ice won't matter.
Otherwise, I wouldn't trust the ice to melt before the cylinder scores.

Soak the bendix in ATF.
For cleaning the FW area, just spray degreaser in there and wipe it out.
This is easiest when the engine is pulled, but not necessary.

Whatever soaks it good, I suppose. I have used motor oil in the past and decided to give the ATF a try last season. Both worked good, but ATF supposedly works in better.
