he used a round bracket, so he had to move the hood hooks
i understand that, but if hes using a square hood and a square bracket, why move the hooks? im sure theres a valid reason. im just curious as to what it is.
is it because the pole is too narrow and hits the hooks?

thanks for the pics! do you have a pic with the hood on? im curious to see the profile with a raised bracket.
Here's a side shot of mine with the round bracket and pole. I don't have the plastic end piece on there or it would stick up higher. I moved the hood hooks out because the round pole will hit them if you try to use the square bracket.
edit: I posted some pics in this thread before.

FSriverrat, how much did that bracket cost? wifey still has all of credit w/XFT from the design contests :sneaky:
You didn't happen to make a template for that under hull piece, did you?
I think the X-METALs are just like $125

I just checked out the XMetal Works bracket out on the Twangled website - is this the one that works as a conversion bracket (roundnose pole on a squarenose hull)?
So, did you have any trouble mounting the stock roundnose bracket onto the squarenose hull? What did you do about the holes in the hull for the old bracket - fill them with epoxy or leave them as is?
Are you happy with this setup?
