robert was chumming the water ...not for the sqeamish

Gotta keep the stitches till this Tuesday. More antibiotics. Dr said I was lucky to have it, but it will be fine. Feeling is fine, just a little lateral movement. Just healing time needed.

Tow ropes are important to have, but you have to be real careful. I will not tow anyone anymore unless they have their rope connected to the front of their ski and I can just clip to mine and ride off. I have had three injuries related to towing people in. The waves pose a serious threat, you have to be quick. Half our problem was trying to clip into the waveblaster. I had to circle until I saw an opening. We were trying to figure out how to hook up. It took valuable time.

the blaster is a PITA to hookup.......I added a thru hull tow loop to the front of my REV....IM with you about the in-bold statement

the proper method should be for the downed rider to hook themselves up, and hold the other end of the rope in the air...the tow-ER should not even have to shut their boat down if its done right...

We need to get the beach patrol to add tow loops to the checklist....NO LAUNCHING WITHOUT THEM!!!!!!!

Got the stitches out yesterday. The finger is almost like new after putting it in some hand polishing machine at the Dr. office. It was like a sand blasting cabinet. It removed dead skin and made my hand real soft and nice. Sherry was pleased. If I go back I am gioing to try to do both. Here's a pic.

Forgot the pic.

That still looks a little gnarly for 17 days out. Physicians pick on vets all the time because we're so quick to put animals on antibiotics. But if I can clear up an anal sac abscess in 7-10 days, that finger ought to look better by now!

I don't remember what you said, did they put you on antibiotics right away, or wait until it was looking infected?

I was on antibiotics right away. The pics in the first post were after it was cleaned up in the hospital. It looked way worse at the beach. It was an evulsion, all that meat and skin was ripped up and was bunched up on top of my finger. I think all the swelling has hindered the healing process. Also, I have really not stopped using it. I'm thinking one more week and I will be great.

Yeah, I could tell from your first pics that it was fugly, but I got a little worried at the second pics with how much swelling that appeared to still be present. It certainly looks much better, but I can see where relatively fresh scabs have come off around where the margins of the lac were. All that bright pink looks like fairly fresh granulation tissue which will still have to re-epithelialize. You're still about 10-14 days out from completely sealed externally (as best I can tell from the pics). There will still be some swelling and stiffness as tissues realign and reorganize inside, but not nearly like what you have had, of course.

It is a bummer that it was your right, it probably would have healed about 30% faster if it was your left since you would have been able to not use it as much. Once you are "sealed" and a little more of the swelling comes down, using it will help speed return to normal function as long as you don't, you know, try to lift welding tables. :poke:
