anyone figure out how to install one of these properly? my stock one broke and I had installed one on a square I had and it was nice. Now this rn spring has no tension at all. the one end is in the hole in the pole and the other end is in the hole in the pole mount. The spring diameter is much larger than the stock and is able to twist sideways to avoid putting much tension out at all. I tried putting the spring behind the hole in the rear but can't get it back there. so I just lifted the front one for the mount out and put two larger size hoses on there to pretension the spring. I also put some hose over the pole bolt to keep the spring in place and take up the slack. It helps but I am sure that is not gonna last.

I dont know how the riva spring works, but the blowsion spring was very easy to put in. I just put it in like the stock spring and it works great. You've seen the pole it floats very well.

Is the riva spring like the UMI spring? If thats the case talk to Chris(#.0) because he has a UMI spring that really makes his pole float and he could probably guide you through putting yours on.

Yep I installed my blowsion spring over the holidays and it works awesome. The pole floats really well. It was very easy to install also. It just fit in there just like the stock spring. I didnt even have to wind it up to make it work.

I bought mine used too so its already had some use and still hasnt worn out.

There was supposedly a bad run of these Blowsion / Riva springs. I would return it. I have had one the same way and seen another one on someone elses boat that way as well, its like they were never heat treated or something.
