RN 2003 - B Pipe rubbing on sponson bolts

Hi

About one year ago i installed a bpipe in my 2003 superjet. Worked great, but now after 15-20 hours of riding i noticed a exhaustleak coming from underneath the chamber

Took the bpipe out of the hull and got a bad surprise. The chamber is rubbing on the sponson bolts, the top row. Made 1 hole, and about to make 2 more..

My solution: Grind the sponson bolts down to almost nothing and fill the holes in the chamber with JB Weld..
But will JB work for this purpose? Or do i need to get it to a shop for welding? see pics

And im worried about my right sponson if i grind down the three bolts rubbing...Are these sponsons usually bolted only, or glued aswell?

Appreciate any reply!

Best Regards

I will get it welded.

But relocating sponsons sound like abit of work.. the ski is newly painted. What about grinding the sponsonbolts 80% down(leave a about 30% of the locknut), sand them round, and then put turf along the side of the hull where the pipe hits and over the bolts? Cant imagine theres so much force on the sponsons? And it will still have 7 more bolts with full strenght.. Or just dent the pipe with a hammer where the bolts hit..?

I have also discovered my albue hose to waterbox from pipe is to long, so i think the pipe has been pushed to far back against the hull.

Should i also raise the waterbox? apparantly this gives some more clearance

Regards

Grind the bolts down. The put the chamber in a rotate until clearance is good all around. Watch for the bedplate. Then mark where. The bolt is and start denting the camber for clearance. I use a deadblow hammer for this. Fast small hits. Don't go "eldestructo" with your blows. Just fast easy hits. Then once you have clearance go get it welded.

I like to take a small piece of waterline and slip it over the bolt threads. Zip tie it in place. That at least prevents metal on metal contact

Thanks!

So even after i have grinded the sponsons-bolts down and have clearance all around the pipe i should still dent the pipe?

Its alot of vibrations i guess so need good clearance.. How "deep" should the dents be where there are sponson bolts? 1cm? i dont want to ruin the chamber.. was hard to get!

Any kind of "clearance test" trick to make sure its good before welding?

Appreciate any input:)

Clearance meant for everything else. Side of hull, gas tank, bed plates. And yes. The bolts!

I want to add “protec”exhaust to my “superjet ski 701”
Is this will increase the performance?

What do you think.

Give your opinion.
