Surfriding Rickter Mid Shaft Specification Question?

Im running a Rickter FS2 Hullmidshaft.jpg. Whats the measurement range the shaft can stick out of the housing as seen in the pic for a Rickter FS2?
I noticed a little play in the mid shaft when bolted to fire wall but not attached to motor so I pressed the shaft in another couple mm and the play disappeared. Wondering if I should press it in alittle more?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

i used a cold fusion midshaft spacer to get the proper flex from the housing. i siliconed the spacer to the bulkhead to get a good seal.

X2, did the same on a Rickter XFS with great success. Be sure the add the thickness of the cold fusion spacer to your spec measurement, so your shaft is still correct spec.

Also, you measure from the outer flange ears, not the center like you have pictured.

What kind of play are you talking about? There is supposed to be some spline underlap (about 3/16") to allow for driveline movement.

19.5-20.5mm is spec for midshaft pressthrough as measured from rear of the housing.

^Reasonable assumption. I have not measured my firewall to the pump shoe, yet, on the Rickter but that would give you the real number, if you compare to stock. Or you can do the grease method and check shaft engagement. Should be approx 1.375 to 1.5"

Yami-Rider I agree with your logic unless the Ricky firewall or pump is in a different location than the OEM hull. Just wanted to see what Chris said his experience is.
